The best time for an African wildlife photography safaris in Uganda is when the animals are easy to find and in dense numbers. Deciding when to go on safari depends on what country you would like to visit and when you are able to plan your trip. Uganda has the very good primates and wildlife National Parks which are best visited from December – March or June – September, when it is predominantly dry. Most people who choose Uganda as a safari destination go to see the Mountain Gorillas as well as other wildlife and for those interested in escorted tours or self guided trips using SUV vehicle like Rav4 or big vehicles like Land Cruisers are all offered and are 4×4 jeep that can hit the off road tracks in Africa.
Although rain is likely all year round, the rainy seasons make the trek up to the gorillas particularly difficult but with good views for photography since it has a dark face which does not bring it out well in sunshine, so avoid the months of March-April and October-November. Photography is most achieved in the bright clouds for other wildlife so to avoid that, the drier seasons are preferred. However specification of time may not be necessary for the safari.
Rwanda is one well known destination that offers the most magnificent view in Africa. Due to its high altitude, Rwanda has a lovely tropical highland climate, with its temperature that ranges from 14°C (25°F). Take note that temperatures may differ significantly from area to area because of the difference in altitude.
Daytime average temperature is close to 30°C apart from the highlands where it’s noticed to be very cold. Rwanda has four seasons: short dry season from December to mid-March, long dry period from mid-May to mid-October, Short rains from mid-October to November and Long rains from mid-March to mid-May.
The north-eastern part of Rwanda receives more rain compared to any other parts of the country. Traveling during the rainy season is also adventurous, the scenery is amazing and the flora lush can be perfect for photography of both nature and the gorillas. Therefore there is no specific time to visit Rwanda since each season has its own timing. All you need is to get prepared for whatever the season may be.
