Africa has become prominent by most of the tourist for its everlasting geographical features and the wild games which are spread in the wild reserved game parks in the different countries. This has inspired mob tourists like me to go and visit some of the countries for photography holiday. In this case I visited three countries such as Uganda, Rwanda & Democratic Republic of Congo. The major reason for the journey was to make a documentary for the mass media company I work with that is focusing now of wildlife in Africa.
In this case I partnered with Nature Adventure Africa Safaris Limited who organized a photographic tour for me and my colleagues which was to last for a month. This company through its sister website 4×4 Car Hire Uganda offered us the best car to use for our expedition in all countries. Uganda was my first country to do wildlife and gorilla photography. I was taken to the various parks such as Murchison falls, Kidepo valley, Queen Elizabeth, Rwenzori Mountain, Lake Mburo national park and Bwindi impenetrable. This gave me a memorable experience.
I took photos for the different wild animals through game drives and these included, Buffaloes, antelopes, golden and black monkeys, lions in fig trees at QENP, leopards, crocodiles. Hippos, chimpanzees, African elephants, wild pigs, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, rhinos at Ziwa sanctuary and the endangered mountain gorillas at Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Birds such as eaglets, shoe bill, Black-billed Magpie, Flycatcher, Squacco Heron, African Jacana, Sandpipers, Denham’s Bustard, Abyssinian Ground-Hornbill, Black-billed Barbet, Black-headed Gonaleks, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Piapiac, Silver bird, Weaver Birds, Pied, Giant and Malachite Kingfishers, Red-throated Bee-eaters all over the different parks. From Uganda I proceeded to Rwanda which lies in the south of Uganda.
I toured the three game parks in the country and these included, Akagera national park, volcanoes national park and Nyungwe national park. While in Nyungwe, I used the walk canopy which lies above the forest and here I took chimpanzee photos, monkeys and other primate within the forest. All this was done with the experts who were well conversant with wild location basing on how animals spend their days and nights. Good drivers who drove me safely while doing my photography activity.
From Rwanda, our next destination was DR.Congo and we passed through Goma area. For a person who had a nice camera like me, this was my best experience in the wee hours as it was dawning due to the mountain Nyiragongo volcanic activities which turns the sky red at a nice spectacular of the Mikeno lodge, the volcanic cones in the Virunga national park plus exciting tree species distributed over the terrains within the park.
The following day we traveled back to Uganda to catch our flight back to our motherland and for the all time we spent in Africa, this tour gave us a nice remarkable moment for the great and un-avoidable photographic safari.
